Many of you are told you've made it because you're making in the high 6 figures at your 9 to 5 (and some times longer). Yet, you hardly ever get to see the light of day, let alone your family.

Have you really made it or are you slowly selling off your life by the hour? The heart only has so many beats in it; you only get so many breaths. How can you put a price on them? I feel your pain, that’s why I made a shift in my thought process. No longer is my success gauged by how much money I make; it's now about what I keep and how hard it works for me so that I don’t have to!

So what's it really like to earn a passive income?  Read this chapter from my journal from early 2008:

I don’t make good money, I make great money.  I wake up in the morning or occasionally in the afternoon.  My alarm clock sits lifeless on my night stand as a reminder of the world I escaped not so long ago.

Now I wake when I'm done sleeping, tired of resting. Who would have thought there is such a thing? Refreshed I recite “ It's a beautiful day filled with love, opportunity & positive things,” as I kiss the love of my life good morning and grab my coffee.

As I feed my fish and get ready to play with my dog an overwhelming sense of calm and happiness settles around me as I sit in my brown leather recliner and make my to do list for the day.

I begin to write starting with my health and working backwards:

  1. Work out
  2. Check email
  3. Figure out what to do for dinner (often my most difficult and time consuming decision of the day)
  4. Return calls & follow up on deals.
  5. Spend time enjoying what I've created (bike ride, fishing, cooking planning next vacation, or making love in the middle of the day).

Today I've decided to be productive, because all to often I find my self writing:

  1. Be happy/feel good

Then I spend the rest of my day with my dog wondering around my neighborhood.  Today I've decided to walk down to the train station a few blocks from my house and lay on a park bench staring at the clouds as angry commuters rush by reminding me of just how bad it sucked being a cog in someone else’s machine.

I've built my own machine and it practically runs with out me now. I can feel the stares of disgust, as commuters cast there eyes upon the young man in the camouflage shorts and the yellow T-shirt who hasn't shaved in 3 weeks gazing at the sky through his polarized sunglasses.  Then I hear it, “get a job you lazy bum” as one of them yells out the window of the train as it pulls away. I've earned the right to be called a lazy bum and no I have no intention of ever getting a job again, ever.

I keep staring at the sky & smile more when I think to myself this bum’s got a sit down with his accountant and file a 7 figure tax return.  It doesn't get much better than this.  I've grown as a person.

What is your dream day like? It has become reality for me, and it can for you too.  Do you dare to live it?  I'll tell you right now it won’t be easy to get there, but if your committed and persistent it will become a reality sooner than you think.
