Applied Education celebrates Earth Day 2010 by bringing "green" awareness to all of its business practices.
In late 2009, in an effort to "green-up" the workplace, Applied Education completed the process of extracting and re-digitizing over 34 hours of audio recordings on CD, and over 100 documents comprising the Turning Houses™ student handout materials. Previously these materials would have been printed for each student for each class, or burned onto a set of 15 CD-ROMs, and with the popularity of Turning Houses™ growing every year, that quickly adds up to a lot of raw materials used and often times discarded.
With the help of Web Marketing Manager Lenny Tafro, Applied Education made all of this digitized material available online for students to download, and it seems that the students appreciate being able to print a hard copy of just the documents that they need, or easily transfer Chuck's audio files to a iPod, mobile phone, or other mp3 device.
Further green optimizations are slated or 2010, including the digitizing of all course textbooks, and the opportunity to present Chuck's upcoming book, Flipping Without Flopping - Taking the Risk Out of Real Estate Investing in Kindle and e-book formats.
As Chuck is fond of saying it's up to all of us each day to "Take Action", and if all of us can do something today that makes not only good business sense but good environmental sense, all the better!
